Our customers are a very creative group. From traditional art—oils and watercolours—to digital art, photography and mixed media, we have framed just about everything for them. But our customers really love the way we frame their needle art—cross-stitch, needlepoint, and crewelwork for example.
Our expertise in framing textiles goes back to our family roots in Europe, where art embroidery and needlework were regularly created as church decorations. The Gasenser family ancestors were regularly engaged by churches and artisans to mount, protect, and hang these works.
It takes years of practice to perfect the technique of gently stretching the cloth to block, mount, and frame it. Too much stretching can damage both the cloth and the artistic stitching, while not enough can mean an unattractive result. The type of fabric and stitching technique will determine the framing method and materials we use. Bring your needlework into the shop for a free consultation.
Whether it's your living room, boardroom, or gallery, at Fleet Galleries, we can make your art work!
